Question

What should I look at if I need reasonable adjustments at work in Great Britain?

Reasonable adjustments and Access to Work are often mentioned together even though they are different routes, which can make it harder to work out what to ask an employer for and when government support may also be relevant.

Current understanding

Acas is the current Great Britain guidance route in the catalogue for understanding, requesting and reviewing reasonable adjustments with an employer. Access to Work is a separate government route that may provide practical or grant-funded support beyond an employer's normal reasonable-adjustment duty. The two routes can interact but are not interchangeable, and individual legal or funding outcomes depend on the circumstances and current rules.
