Question

Do I have to disclose neurodivergence or disability at work to ask for support?

People often conflate diagnosis, disclosure, equality-law duties and Access to Work, which can make a high-stakes employment decision feel all-or-nothing.

Current understanding

Acas is the current Great Britain employment-guidance route in the catalogue for reasonable adjustments, while Access to Work is a separate government support route. The amount of information an employer needs depends on the support or legal issue involved; ND Oracle should not tell an individual whether to disclose or predict a legal outcome. A practical route is to inspect current Acas guidance, decide what barrier or change needs explaining, and seek individual advice where the consequences matter.
