Question

Where can I look for workplace support in Great Britain if disability or a health condition affects my work?

People may know that workplace support exists without knowing which route applies, whether a diagnosis is always required, or where national and employer-specific boundaries sit.

Current understanding

Access to Work is the current government route in England, Scotland and Wales recorded in ND Oracle for practical workplace support or grant-funded support beyond an employer's normal reasonable-adjustment duty. The reviewed eligibility guidance includes autism, ADHD and dyslexia among examples and does not always require a diagnosis. Northern Ireland uses a different system, and civil servants normally receive workplace support through their employer. Eligibility and current rules still need to be checked on GOV.UK for the individual situation.
